KP's First Injury

Sadness struck the Collins household yesterday. It was all fun and games until someone got hurt. KP was playing her heart out on the drums and having the time of her life.

About 10 minutes later, she was walking past the drums, tripped on one of the legs of a cymbal stand, fell onto one of the drum rims, and cut herself right under her bottom lip. This is the first time she's really hurt herself more than just a bonk on the head.

She cried pretty good, and there was some blood and swelling, but she seemed to perk up pretty quickly afterward. We debated whether we needed to take her in to have it looked at, but ultimately decided not to. We still don't know if that was the right decision or not (we'll know for sure in 20 years when she does or doesn't have an unsightly scar under her lip).

Poor kid. Hopefully she's ok.
